Water softening resin is a type of gel-type strong acid cation exchange resin. When hard water passes through the resin, sodium ions in the resin exchange with calcium and magnesium ions in the water. This process effectively removes calcium and magnesium, which are the primary components of water hardness, and releases sodium ions. The result is softened water. Soft water resin is a widely used material in both domestic and industrial water treatment applications.
SYN08 Food-Grade Cation Exchange Resin is also applicable in hydrometallurgy, sugar refining, pharmaceuticals, and the MSG industry. It exhibits excellent physical stability and antioxidant properties.
